A little life update

So, I would normally start this off with an apology and an excuse for why I've been away for so long, and then I'll promise that I'll be a perfect blogger from now on, but lets be honest, given my track record that will never happen!

Instead I'm not going to give you an empty promise or pretend that I'm going to stick to a schedule because life happens, and you know just as well as I do that I'm rubbish that this. So lets just call me what I really am, an occasional blogger, and I'll post as and when I can.

I figured it was time to dust off my MacBook and give you a little life update.

I turned another year older on Sunday. I don't know how my mid twenties snuck up on me, but I swear I was 19 last week and I'm pretty sure I'm not imagining those lines on my forehead.

I don't know if it's an age thing, but all of a sudden I can't go a day without a coffee (or three) and the frappuccinos and hot chocolates I used to drink so often it practically ran through my veins are too sickly I can barely finish them now.

The prospect of interior shopping in The White Company excites me more than anything these days and all of a sudden I feel the need to spend half my salary on skincare that takes five years off my face.

I have recently delved into the world of 25+ dating via the ever-so classy Tinder and Bumble. Honestly, its soul destroying. How on earth do people date in their mid twenties when I can't even get a reply from a self-proclaimed 'cheeky chap' or  'gym addict' where every single picture of him is shirtless in Ibiza with 'the lads' or with his arm placed strategically in his selfie so you can see his sleeve and 'gains' which he is clearly very proud of. I gave up on both pretty quickly!

As much as I joke about how awful getting older is, it really wasn't as terrifying as everyone makes it out to be. It was probably my favourite birthday yet and I'm the happiest and most sure of myself than I have been in a very long time.

I've signed up to do a half marathon in March for the British Heart Foundation. I figured it was time to start taking care of myself, and clearly I thought a half marathon would be a fantastic place to start ... we'll just see how my training goes.

I started doing illustration on my iPad Pro as a little side hobby. It's a creative outlet for myself and I haven't really shared much with anyone yet, but maybe I'll start incorporating this into the blog at some point.

Can I just point out that there is only six weeks left of 2017 ...  I expected a little more from myself this year and I'm still broke, single and I don't have visible abs. Shocking I know.

Good work if you managed to make it to the end of my ramblings. I do have some blog posts lined up for the next coming weeks, but who knows, I might even manage to post them before the end of the year!
